Pay Almería’s rubbish fee and other council bills

Almería bills its rubbish fee (tasa de residuos) once a year to the owner as of 1 January, through the council’s tax register, and the council’s collection edicts set the voluntary period.

Why it matters
Rubbish fees and council bills arrive on their own schedule; knowing where they are billed avoids missed payments.
When
You own or rent a home in Almería and want to know where the rubbish fee is billed.

Cost: See the council’s ordinance; amounts not quoted here.

Steps

  1. Know who is billed
The council’s FAQ says the fee is annual and billed to the owner on 1 January, so a renter should ask the landlord who pays.
  2. Find the voluntary period
The yearly edicto de cobranza gives the dates; Ordinance 38 set two months. The 2025 edict listed 1 August to 3 October and 27 October to 29 December 2025, and the 2024 calendar put the rubbish fee at 2 August to 4 October 2024.
  3. Pay
The edict names collaborating banks and the Oficina Virtual Tributaria (electronic certificate). Cuenta Fácil 10 is the council’s periodic-payment scheme that includes the rubbish fee.
  4. Appeal if needed
The edict says a recurso de reposición can be filed within one month after the voluntary period ends.
