Pay Granada’s rubbish fee and other council fees

From 2026 Granada’s council bills the rubbish fee itself, as one annual receipt based on Catastro data at 1 January 2026, and plans bimonthly receipts for domiciled payers from 2027.

Why it matters
Rubbish fees and council bills arrive on their own schedule; knowing where they are billed avoids missed payments.
When
You live in Granada and want to know how the rubbish fee is billed and paid.
Last checked

Cost: See the council’s ordinance; amounts not quoted here.

Steps

  1. Read the council’s explanation
The council’s page 'Tasa de Residuos a partir de 2026' says it now manages the fee directly and the 2026 charge is one annual receipt, sent from April, with the payment period on the letter.
  2. Know the legal base
The fee is under Ordinance no. 25, last corrected in BOP no. 245 of 24 December 2025. The voluntary period is at least two months and is set by the cobranza notice.
  3. Ask about 'cuota cero'
The council has a procedure to request the cuota-cero application for the household rubbish fee; check its page for who qualifies.
  4. Older receipts
A BOP notice for the September-October 2025 bimonthly receipt said it could be paid at Emasagra’s offices until 28 February 2026.
