ATAL (Aulas Temporales de Adaptación Lingüística): language-support classes for newly arrived foreign students in Andalucía
Andalucía’s ATAL program provides temporary Spanish-language support for immigrant students (roughly 3rd grade of Primaria through 4th grade of ESO) who do not know Spanish well enough to follow regular classes; schools, not families, formally request and manage ATAL places through the Consejería via the online Séneca platform, using an annual application (Anexo II) during a school-set window.
