Pet registration / mandatory animal identification in Andalucía (applies in Marbella)

Andalucía regional law requires dogs, cats and ferrets to be microchipped and entered in the regional pet-identification registry (RAIA); no Marbella-specific municipal registration page was located when we checked.

Why it matters

Owners relocating with pets or acquiring a pet in Marbella need to comply with this regional identification requirement; Marbella may also have its own local ordinance on animal possession (not confirmed).

When

Acquiring a dog, cat, or ferret, or moving to Marbella with one.
