Know your consumer rights when buying and selling second-hand in Mijas
Spanish consumer law gives a guarantee on second-hand goods bought from a business (not shorter than one year if agreed shorter) but not on private sales between individuals, which fall under the Civil Code.
- Why it matters
- Furnishing a home second-hand is common; knowing whether you have a legal guarantee depends on who sells to you.
- When
- You buy or sell used furniture, appliances, electronics or a vehicle.
