Empadronamiento (Padrón Municipal de Habitantes) in Rota
Registering as a resident on Rota’s municipal population register (padrón) at the Ayuntamiento de Rota’s Oficina de Atención a la Ciudadanía (OAC). The OAC handles padrón procedures and the municipal census.
- Why it matters
- Empadronamiento is the foundation for almost every other registration in Spain (health card, school enrollment, NIE/TIE renewals, voting in local elections for EU citizens, some tax and benefit purposes). Newcomers to Rota should do this early.

- Moving into a home in Rota, whether renting or owning, including long-term US civilian residents not affiliated with the naval base.
