Rubbish, recycling, bulky items and puntos limpios (LIPASAM)

LIPASAM runs rubbish collection; bulky items are collected free on request, and five puntos limpios take special waste.

Steps

Sort household waste
Five containers: brown (organic), yellow (light packaging), green (glass), blue (paper/cardboard), gray (everything else). Deposit hours under the municipal ordinance are 20:00-23:00.
Request bulky-item pickup
Request online via the LIPASAM form or call 955 010 010 / 010 (24 hours, call charge applies). LIPASAM then contacts you to agree the pickup. The service is free.
Or take items to a punto limpio
Drive in with your own vehicle; mixed-material waste must be separated beforehand; one entry per day per site.

Tips

LIPASAM’s January 2024 Catálogo de Servicios (official PDF) confirms bulky-item (muebles y enseres) collection is free and is arranged by calling 010 / 955 010 010, with the collection day/time agreed directly with the caller — but it states no fixed lead time and no item-count limit, so that part of the gap stays open. The online request page (lipasam.es/resolveuid/852945cd623043d8904a075ba42ea535) also only offers a request form and the same phone numbers, available 24h, with no schedule or limits published.
LIPASAM’s 'Puntos Limpios y Ecopuntos' page (lipasam.es/la-empresa/servicios/recogida-de-residuos/ecopuntos) lists the Ecopunto locations by district, all open 24 hours: Sur (Ronda de Tamarguillo esq. The Casco Histórico individual-bin scheme and its deposit-hours question were not resolved — the catalog only gives a general organic-waste deposit window of 20:00-23:00 and does not say whether the historic center differs.
