Get the CONECTA card for buses and trains across Asturias
CONECTA is the personal, pay-as-you-go transport card of the Consorcio de Transportes de Asturias (CTA) valid on urban and intercity buses and Renfe/Feve trains across Asturias, with per-trip fares by zone and a monthly spending cap (€20 since 1 October 2026) after which travel is free for the rest of the month.
- Why it matters
- It is the cheapest general way to move around Asturias by public transport — Gijón–Oviedo, Avilés, the airport bus and city buses — and non-EU citizens can get it with just a passport.
- When
- As soon as you plan to use buses or trains in Asturias more than occasionally, including commuting between Gijón and Oviedo/Avilés.
- How long it takes
- About 5 minutes to apply in the app; card delivered by post in about one week (CTA).
