Know your consumer rights when buying second-hand in San Bartolomé de Tirajana
Spain’s consumer law gives a legal guarantee on goods bought from a business, which for second-hand goods can be shortened by agreement to no less than one year; goods bought from a private individual are not covered. The council runs an OMIC consumer office.
- Why it matters
- Furnishing a flat second-hand is common; knowing which purchases carry a legal guarantee tells you what you can claim if something fails.
- When
- You are buying or selling used furniture, appliances or electronics, or have a consumer complaint.
