Book a cita previa for extranjería / police appointments
Immigration and foreigner-ID procedures handled by the National Police or the foreigners' office (NIE, TIE fingerprints, EU registration and others) require an advance appointment booked through the state’s online 'Cita previa de extranjería' system by choosing your province and the procedure.
- Why it matters
- Almost every foreigner step (NIE, TIE, EU certificate) starts with getting a slot at your local police station or foreigners' office, and slots can be scarce.
- When
- You need a NIE, TIE (fingerprints), EU registration certificate or other extranjería procedure and must be seen in person.
- How long it takes
- Waiting time for the first free slot is not published; availability varies by office (sede FAQ).
