Tías public holidays and shop opening days (2026 and 2027)

The two local holidays in Tías come on top of the national and regional ones, and the region sets which Sundays and holidays shops may open.

Why it matters
Offices, schools and many shops close on holidays, and a local holiday that falls on a weekday can close the town hall and cancel an appointment you planned.
When
You are planning errands, appointments or a Sunday shop around a holiday.
How long it takes
Regions publish the next year’s holiday and shop-opening lists in the autumn; check again in the new year.

Steps

  1. Check Tías’s local holidays
Tías’s two local holidays for 2026 are 2 Feb (Mon, Nuestra Señora La Candelaria) and 17 Feb (Tue, Martes de Carnaval), per the Orden of 6 Aug 2025 (BOC 165, 21 Aug 2025). Lanzarote’s island holiday is 15 Sep (Tue, Nuestra Señora de Los Volcanes).
  2. Add the regional and national holidays
Canarias 2026 (Decreto 61/2025, BOC 88, 5 May 2025): 1 Jan (Thu), 6 Jan (Tue), 2 Apr (Holy Thursday), 3 Apr (Good Friday), 1 May (Fri), 30 May (Sat, Día de Canarias), 15 Aug (Sat), 12 Oct (Mon), 2 Nov (Mon), 8 Dec (Tue) and 25 Dec (Fri), plus one holiday for each island.
  3. Check shop hours before a holiday weekend
The Canarias pages read for this card did not list which Sundays and holidays shops may open; ask the council or look at the Gobierno de Canarias commerce pages, and assume many shops are closed on holidays until you confirm.
  4. Plan ahead for 2027
Neither the 2027 regional calendar nor 2027 local holidays were found on the BOC pages read.
