Register on the Santander padrón (empadronamiento)
The padrón is Santander town hall’s register of residents. You register in person at the Padrón office (Servicio de Estadística), Calle Los Escalantes 3, 2nd floor (Edificio Ribalaygua); the sede lists no online route for a first alta.
- Why it matters
- Registration is the council’s proof that you live in Santander and where; many local services (e.g. OLA resident parking card, municipal childcare grants) ask for a current padrón certificate.

- You start living at an address in Santander or move to a new address within the municipality.
