Steps

  1. Everyday waste
Use the street containers; the council runs a campaign 'Ciudad solo hay una, pero contenedores cuatro' (four container types). Details at cuidasantanderestuya.com.
  2. Bulky items
Call the free bulky-collection line (number needs confirming, see where); you are given the time window to leave items out. The 2018 council item says it covers wood (furniture, boxes, boards), metals and household goods; they are not accepted at mobile puntos limpios.
  3. Special waste
Use the fixed Punto Limpio de Cueto or one of four mobile punto limpio units (Mon-Sat, 24 stops weekly). Accepted: oil, textiles, shoes, fluorescent lamps, paints, varnishes, coffee capsules, pesticides, printer cartridges, batteries.
