Torrelavega public holidays and shop opening days (2026 and 2027)

Torrelavega’s two local holidays in 2026 are 17 August and 16 September, as the Gobierno de Cantabria lists them, and the region sets which Sundays and holidays shops may open.

Why it matters

Local holidays close offices, schools and many shops, and they move administrative deadlines.

Steps

1. Find the local holidays
The Gobierno de Cantabria’s calendar (BOC of 11 December 2025) lists 17 August (San Roque) and 16 September (San Cipriano) for 2026.
2. Add the regional holidays
Cantabria’s 12 holidays for 2026 are 1 and 6 January, 2 and 3 April, 1 May, 28 July (Día de las Instituciones de Cantabria), 15 August, 15 September (La Bien Aparecida), 12 October and 7, 8 and 25 December.
3. Check when shops may open
No official page listing the Sundays and holidays when shops may open was read; the regional commerce department sets them each year (Orden IND/54/2025 of 25 November 2025 is reported as the order for 2026), so check it before planning around it.
4. Plan around closures
Local holidays are paid, non-recoverable days off for workers and count as non-working days for administrative deadlines, so offices may be closed and deadlines can move; check the office’s own page.
