Renew your padrón every two years (non-EU) or confirm it (EU)
Non-EU foreigners without permanent residence must renew their padrón registration every two years; EU citizens and permanent residents are subject to periodic confirmation.
- Why it matters
- Registration can lapse (caducidad) without a hearing if a non-EU resident does not renew, which can break padrón-based services and immigration processes.
- When
- You hold a temporary residence permit or visa, or receive a renewal/confirmation letter from the Ayuntamiento.
