Get a municipal library card

Salamanca’s municipal library network issues a single loan card valid in all municipal libraries; under-18s get a free reader card.

Why it matters: Libraries lend books, magazines and audiovisual items and the card works across the network.
When: You want to borrow books or use municipal libraries.

What you need

Fill in the library’s registration form.
Two recent passport-size photos.
DNI to check data (the page names DNI; ask what a foreigner should show: NIE/passport).
Under 15: a parent’s DNI.

Visit any municipal library
Take form, photos and ID; the card is valid across the network.
Reserve online
Document reservations can be made online per the sede.
