Shop opening on Sundays and holidays in Catalonia

In Catalonia, shops may open on eight Sundays and holidays a year, and each town council adds two more days for its own town. Bakeries, newsstands, florists, fuel-station shops and some other shops can open on other days.

Why it matters

Most big supermarkets are closed on Sundays and holidays, so you need to know that only a few days a year are open and plan your shopping around them.
