Pay Alicante’s rubbish fee and other council bills

Why it matters
The fee depends on the property’s size and cadastral value, and the council offers reductions for sorting waste.

Steps

  1. Check the calendar
The council’s taxpayer calendar lists the waste fee voluntary period as 15 March to 30 June each year with directly debited receipts charged on 3 June; the page itself is dated 2021, so confirm the current year.
  2. Download your receipt
The council’s online service lets you download in PDF the receipts for the waste fee, IBI, vehicle tax, IAE and vados during the voluntary period, with no digital certificate.
  3. Understand the amount
A council notice says the fee for homes uses both floor area and cadastral value, with reductions of up to 20% for selective collection at home and for using the brown organic container with the 'Tú haces Alicante' card or app.
  4. Ask the council
The taxpayer office is at C/ Jorge Juan, 5, 03002 Alicante; the council lines are 010 and 900 153 862.
