Report a crime in Calp

For a denuncia (crime report) in Calp: the Policía Nacional’s list shows no office in the town, so the options are the Policía Nacional online denuncia (signed at a station), a Guardia Civil post by appointment, or a call to 091 or 112 if it is happening now.

Why it matters
If you are robbed or a victim of a crime, you need a signed denuncia for insurance, passport replacement and other follow-up. Knowing which police body takes it saves time.

What you need

Steps

  1. Call 091 or 112 if it is happening now
The online denuncia page says crimes in progress are reported by calling 091 or 112.
  2. Check where the Policía Nacional offices are
The Policía Nacional’s list of denuncia offices for Alicante province shows offices in Alcoy, Alicante, Benidorm, Dénia, Elche, Elda and Orihuela; it shows none in Calp.
  3. Local police
The council directory lists the Policía Local at Avenida de Europa, 15, 03710 Calp, office phone (+34) 965 839 000, and 112 for emergencies, 24 hours.
  4. Decide: online first, or in person
The Policía Nacional online denuncia cannot be used if there was violence or intimidation, the author is known or could be recognized, there are witnesses, the reporter is a minor, or the facts are violent or sexual. Online reports go only to the Policía Nacional.
  5. If you filed online, sign at the police station
The online page says you must sign the report at the station you chose as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours, bringing the reference number you receive; without the signature the report has no legal validity.
  6. Or book a Guardia Civil appointment
The Guardia Civil’s booking page is for filing criminal complaints and other non-urgent procedures at its posts. You pick the province, enter your details, then choose the post and the time.
  7. Bring ID
The Guardia Civil asks for a DNI, NIE or passport when you book; at the post the officer records your statement in writing and both sign it.
