Steps

  1. Find the local holidays
The DOGV annex lists 13 April (San Vicente) and 8 September (Nuestra Señora de Loreto) as the local holidays for 2026.
  2. Add the regional holidays
The Decreto 100/2025 lists 1 and 6 January, 19 March, 3 April (Good Friday), 6 April (Easter Monday), 1 May, 24 June, 15 August, 9 October, 12 October, 8 December and 25 December as 2026 holidays, as reproduced on a council page.
  3. Check when shops may open
The Comunitat Valenciana allows up to 11 Sundays and holidays a year on which shops may open; a council page lists the 2026 dates as 4 January, 11 January, 3 April, 5 April, 5 July, 15 August, 12 October, 29 November, 13 December, 20 December and 27 December, and says shops may not open on 1 January, 6 January, 1 May, 9 October or 25 December. Small shops and tourist-zone shops have their own rules.
  4. Plan around closures
Local holidays are paid, non-recoverable days off for workers and also affect administrative deadlines, so offices may be closed; check the office’s own page.
