Rubbish, recycling and clean points
The Concello’s environment area covers street collection containers, treatment, clean points (puntos limpos including a mobile one) and a composting program.

Steps
- Use the four street containers
Gray = resto (general waste), yellow = envases only, brown = organic, plus paper/cardboard and glass containers (per the Concello colectores page, which describes the new gray container). - Put rubbish out in the allowed hours
June-September 22:00-00:00; October-May 20:00-00:00. Collection runs nightly from midnight (not 25 Dec and 1 Jan) on 24 routes. - Bulky items
Call 010 for the free collection of bulky waste (furniture, appliances). From outside the city: 981 184 278. - Clean points
Two voluntary-drop clean points (see where); a mobile clean point visits a different street Tue-Sat 9:00-14:00.

Tips
- Clean points accept electrical appliances, furniture, garden waste, textiles, paint, tires, rubble, batteries, oil, fluorescent tubes and similar. The mobile point accepts oil, batteries, toner, X-rays, aerosols, lamps, phones, small electronics, paints.
- Industrial clean points exist at Pocomaco and A Grela.
