Steps
- Find the local holidays
The official page lists 17 February (Martes de Carnaval) and 7 October (Rosario) in 2026. - Check when shops may open
The Xunta’s order of 18 September 2025 (DOG 189, 1 October 2025) authorizes shop opening on 4 and 11 January, 2 April, 26 July, 15 August, 29 November and 6, 13, 20 and 27 December 2026; a council may ask to change two of those dates. - Plan around closures
Local holidays are paid, non-recoverable days off for workers and count as non-working days for administrative deadlines, so offices may be closed and deadlines can move; check the office’s own page.
