Get your Galician public health card (tarxeta sanitaria)
The Tarxeta Sanitaria is the Sergas card that identifies you in Galicia’s public health system; it is requested at a health center or online with a digital certificate and stays valid while you are registered as entitled.
- Why it matters
- It lets you be assigned a GP and use Sergas services and the Sergas Móbil app, but it depends on being recognized as entitled to public healthcare, not just on living in Galicia.
- When
- You are recognized as insured or beneficiary of the Spanish public system (for example via Social Security) and live in Galicia.
- How long it takes
- About three months for replacement cards (Sergas FAQ); first-issue timing not found.
