Pharmacies and out-of-hours pharmacy (farmacia de garda) in Galicia

Out-of-hours (garda) pharmacy rotas are set by the provincial pharmacists' colleges and checked by the Xunta; Sergas offers a general pharmacy finder, and the national pharmacists' council hosts a per-province garda page.

You need to find an open pharmacy at night or weekends.

Steps

  1. Look up the rota
    Open the national pharmacists' council page for your province (e.g. Pontevedra) and pick your municipality, or check the notice in any pharmacy window. The Sergas pharmacy finder (filters: postcode, province, municipality) lists active pharmacies but its page does not mention on-duty status.
  2. Prescriptions
    Sergas e-prescription (receita electrónica) lets prescriptions issued by Sergas doctors be filled at pharmacies across the national health system (Sergas FAQ, Feb 2024).
