Shop opening on Sundays and holidays in Galicia

Large shops in Galicia may open on only ten Sundays and holidays a year, set each year by an order of the Xunta. Small shops, bakeries, newsstands, florists, fuel stations and convenience shops may open on other days under Galicia’s free-hours rule.

Why it matters

Most big supermarkets are closed on Sundays and holidays, so you need to know the few days they can open and where small shops still serve you.
