Shop opening on Sundays and holidays in the Balearic Islands

Large shops in the Balearic Islands may open on Sundays and holidays only on ten days a year, set by a yearly resolution of the regional government. Small shops, bakeries and other shops with free hours can open on other days.

Why it matters

Most big supermarkets are closed on Sundays and holidays, so you need to know the few days they can open and plan your shopping around them.
