Palma public holidays and shop opening days (2026 and 2027)

Palma’s two local holidays are 20 January (Sant Sebastià) and 24 June (Sant Joan) in 2026, as the official page lists them, and the region sets which Sundays and holidays shops may open.

Why it matters
Local holidays close offices, schools and many shops, and they move administrative deadlines.

Steps

  1. Find the local holidays
The official page lists 20 January (Sant Sebastià) and 24 June (Sant Joan) in 2026.
  2. Add the regional holidays
    The Govern lists the regional holidays: 1 and 6 January, 2 March, 2, 3 and 6 April, 1 May, 15 August, 12 October, 8, 25 and 26 December.
  3. Check when shops may open
    The Govern’s announcement of 3 October 2025 lists 10 shop-opening days for 2026: 4 January, 18 January, 8 March, 2 April, 15 August, 6 September, 29 November, 6 December, 20 December and 26 December; councils may substitute 15 August and 6 September.
  4. Plan around closures
Local holidays are paid, non-recoverable days off for workers and count as non-working days for administrative deadlines, so offices may be closed and deadlines can move; check the office’s own page.
