Know the US consular services available to you in Spain
US citizens in Spain are served by the US Embassy in Madrid (American Citizen Services); the State Department’s Spain list shows consular offices in Barcelona and consular agencies in Fuengirola, Las Palmas, Palma, Seville and Valencia.
- Why it matters
- You will need the embassy for things like passport renewal, a lost passport, documents for children born abroad, notarial services and emergencies, and it is worth knowing in advance which office is nearest to you.
- When
- Your passport is expiring or lost, you have an emergency or arrest, a child is born, or you want alerts from the embassy.
