Official government apps worth installing
Several Spanish national bodies publish free official apps: Mi Carpeta Ciudadana, the Cl@ve app, the Agencia Tributaria app, Importass (Social Security) and miDGT. Most sign in with Cl@ve, so registering for Cl@ve first is what unlocks them. Emergency alerts (ES-Alert) need no app at all.
- Why it matters
- Tax, Social Security and driving matters are handled online in Spain, and these apps put notifications, documents and common procedures on a phone. Most of them rely on Cl@ve, which foreigners with an NIE can register for.
- When
- You have a NIE or TIE and Cl@ve, and want to see which official apps use it.
