Get the visa health certificate some consulates ask for
Seven US consulates and London ask for a medical certificate from a physician saying you have no disease with serious public-health repercussions under the International Health Regulations of 2005, usually no older than 3 months.
- Why it matters
- It is one of the papers with a short life: issued too early, it expires before the appointment, and without an apostille the consulate does not accept it.
- When
- Your consulate’s list for your visa type includes a medical certificate.
- How long it takes
- Valid for 3 months before the visa application at most consulates; 90 days at Washington (consulate pages).
