Take your car out of Spain: baja definitiva por exportación
If you move your car to another country, you ask the DGT for a baja definitiva por traslado a otro país. For a destination outside the EU the car must leave within 90 days of the baja, or Tráfico reinstates it by its own decision.
- Why it matters
- People who leave Spain with a Spanish-registered car need the baja and the Spanish papers to register it in the new country.
- When
- You are moving a car registered in Spain to another country.
- How long it takes
- For a non-EU destination, the car must leave within 90 days of the baja. For an EU destination the DGT says the time to register is one month from processing residence there.
