What you need

Steps

  1. In an emergency, call
Call 112, 091 (Policía Nacional) or 062 (Guardia Civil) when there is immediate danger. The Guardia Civil page gives 062 and 112 for emergencies; the Policía Nacional page says to call 091 or 112 for crimes happening now.
  2. Go to the Guardia Civil post
The council’s press note of 11 January 2024 names a Puesto Principal de la Guardia Civil in Las Rozas, and the Policía Nacional’s Madrid-province list has no denuncia office in Las Rozas. The posts' address, phone and hours were not found on an official page; confirm before you go. Any Guardia Civil post that serves the public takes a denuncia in person.
  3. Or start it online (Policía Nacional)
The Oficina Virtual de Denuncias gives you a reference number; you then sign the denuncia at the station you chose within 72 hours, or it has no legal effect (the page says it lacks legal validity if not signed at the station). It is not for facts of a violent or sexual nature, nor for cases with physical violence or intimidation, a known or recognisable perpetrator, witnesses or minors; go in person for those. The page can be switched to English, French or German.
  4. Or online (Guardia Civil)
The Guardia Civil’s online denuncia needs an electronic signature or ID such as a digital certificate or Cl@ve. It accepts damage, theft, loss or recovery of documents, vehicle theft or theft from a vehicle, and fraudulent use of cards or payment methods. In person, any Guardia Civil post that serves the public takes it; bring a DNI, passport or other valid document.
  5. Ask for your copy
See the Spain-wide card (ES-0158) for your right to a copy and language help.
