Pay Pozuelo de Alarcón’s waste fee and other council bills

Pozuelo bills a yearly waste collection and treatment fee to the property owner, with a voluntary payment period of 1 June to 31 July 2026 and a special 5-installment system.

Why it matters
Tenants can be asked by the owner to cover the fee, so it helps to know how it works and when it is due.
When
You own or rent a home in Pozuelo and want to know who pays the waste fee and how.

Steps

  1. Know who is billed
The council page says the fee accrues on 1 January each year and is issued to the owner on that date, with no proration; owners may pass it on to occupants, and tenants can apply for reductions if the lease says it is passed on.
  2. Check the dates
The calendar lists 1 June to 31 July 2026 as the voluntary period, with direct-debit charges on 31 July and 21 July as the deadline to add, cancel or change a direct debit.
  3. Choose how to pay
The page says direct debit can be requested at your bank, by email to recaudacion@pozuelo.madrid, online with a digital certificate or in person at the General Registry, up to 10 days before the charge.
  4. Consider the special payment system
The council’s page says the system splits the IBI in 2 or the IBI, vehicle tax, vados fee and waste fee in 5 payments with a 5% reduction, capped at 120 euros per taxpayer, each installment at least 20 euros, and the calendar gives 15 December to apply for 2027.
