What you need

Steps

  1. In an emergency, call
Call 112, 091 (Policía Nacional) or 062 (Guardia Civil) when there is immediate danger. The Guardia Civil page gives 062 and 112 for emergencies.
  2. Go to a denuncia office or a Guardia Civil post
The Policía Nacional’s Oficina Virtual de Denuncias lists these denuncia offices in Murcia province, for example: Cartagena (C/ Menéndez Pelayo, 6) (the page lists others). None is in Mazarrón itself, and the page does not say which one serves it; the full list is at the link below. Bring your passport, NIE or TIE. The list is at https://denuncias.policia.es/OVD/Oficinas.dgp?id_prov=30. The Guardia Civil page says any of its posts that offers citizen attention takes a denuncia in person.
  3. Or start it online (Policía Nacional)
The Oficina Virtual de Denuncias gives you a reference number; you then sign the denuncia at the station you chose within 72 hours, or it has no legal effect. It is not for cases with physical violence or intimidation, or where the person responsible is known or could be recognized; go in person for those.
  4. Or online (Guardia Civil)
The Guardia Civil’s online denuncia needs an electronic ID such as a digital certificate or Cl@ve and a digital signature. It accepts damage, theft, lost documents, vehicle theft or theft from a vehicle, and fraudulent use of cards or payment methods.
  5. Ask for your copy
See the Spain-wide card (ES-0158) for your right to a copy and language help.
