Mazarrón public holidays and shop opening days (2026 and 2027)

The two local holidays in Mazarrón come on top of the national and regional ones, and the region sets which Sundays and holidays shops may open.

Why it matters: Offices, schools and many shops close on holidays, and a local holiday that falls on a weekday can close the town hall and cancel an appointment you planned.
When: You are planning errands, appointments or a Sunday shop around a holiday.
How long it takes: Regions publish the next year’s holiday and shop-opening lists in the autumn; check again in the new year.

Steps

Check Mazarrón’s local holidays
Mazarrón’s two local holidays for 2026 are 12 Jun (Fri) and 17 Nov (Tue), per the Región de Murcia’s holiday resolution (BORM 163, 17 Jul 2025); the list gives no names for them.
Add the regional and national holidays
Región de Murcia 2026 (BORM 163, 17 Jul 2025): 1 Jan (Thu), 6 Jan (Tue), 19 Mar (Thu, San José), 2 Apr (Holy Thursday), 3 Apr (Good Friday), 1 May (Fri), 9 Jun (Tue, Día de la Región de Murcia), 15 Aug (Sat), 12 Oct (Mon), 7 Dec (Mon), 8 Dec (Tue) and 25 Dec (Fri).
Know the Sundays and holidays shops may open
The Consejería’s Orden of 17 Oct 2025 (BORM 252, 30 Oct 2025) lets shops open on sixteen Sundays and holidays in 2026: 4 Jan, 11 Jan, 19 Mar, 2 Apr, 7 Jun, 9 Jun, 28 Jun, 15 Aug, 12 Oct, 29 Nov, 6 Dec, 7 Dec, 8 Dec, 13 Dec, 20 Dec and 27 Dec.
Plan ahead for 2027
No 2027 local holidays or shop-opening order were found; a local news item says the regional 2027 calendar has been released but it was not checked against the BORM.

Local holidays are the days the town hall, offices and most schools follow, so check them before booking a cita previa.
