Aste Nagusia (Semana Grande) and big fiestas

Aste Nagusia is Bilbao’s nine-day main festival, started by local associations in 1978: opening fireworks and speech, Marijaia appears from the Arriaga Theater balcony, 100+ free concerts at 9 venues, and Marijaia is burned on the last day.

The biggest annual event; transport, taxis and parking are affected.
