Pay Bilbao’s waste fee and other council bills
From 2026 Bilbao’s city council bills its own waste fee (tasa de residuos urbanos), paid in one payment or six monthly installments in 2026, and from 2027 it joins the council’s pay-as-you-prefer system.

- Know who is billed
The council says the fee falls on the holders of urban properties, homes and non-residential, and for homes combines a part based on cadastral value with a part based on people registered there; it does not apply to garages or storerooms. - Pay in 2026
The council’s notice gave payment until 31 May 2026 in one payment, or six monthly installments from July to December 2026, without interest, if the receipt holder asked by 31 May. - Request installments online
The council’s installment request page for the 2026 waste fee was for holders with BakQ or a digital certificate, with an in-person route also available. - From 2027
The council says the fee will be billed with the other periodic annual taxes in its 'pago a la carta' system.
