Why it matters

Steps

  1. Know how it is set
The council says the fee is annual, falls due on 1 January, and is set by tariffs based on the property’s use and floor area, with a surcharge from 0% for up to 3 people registered to 12% for 8 or more.
  2. Check the dates
The 2026 calendar lists the rubbish fee voluntary period as 22 April to 30 June.
  3. Split it if you wish
The council’s installment page says payments can be split interest-free into 2, 3, 6, 7 or 9 installments for amounts under 4,000 euros if the receipt is on direct debit; deadlines for 2026 were 23 April (9 installments) and 19 June (2, 3, 6 or 7).
  4. Apply or ask
Apply through the electronic office with Cl@ve or a digital certificate, at a citizen service office, or by calling 010 if the bank account is already on file. Pay or ask in person at the Oficinas Municipales de San Martín.
