Public holidays in Asturias, 2026 and 2027 (with Oviedo and Avilés local days)

Asturias has 12 regional and national public holidays a year, including its own Día de Asturias on 8 September, and each council adds two local days: Oviedo keeps Martes de Campo and San Mateo, Avilés keeps Easter Monday and San Agustín.

Why it matters
Offices, schools, banks and many shops close on these days, so appointments and errands need to avoid them; local days differ from one council to the next even within Asturias.
When
You are planning appointments, work, school or errands, or you commute between Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés, which have different local holidays.
How long it takes
The national and regional list for the next year is published in the BOE in October; the Principado approves each year’s local holiday calendar in the BOPA around May-June of the year before.
